To Know You is to Love You
Thursday the 15th of September was the "To Know You is to Love You" Relief Society dinner.
As we arrived we filled out a 'Get to Know You" questionnaire with questions ranging from favorite song to least favorite household chore and name the seven dwarves.
There was a beautiful centerpiece for dessert (cupcakes frosted by Carli Hansen).
Then we got to eat a delicious meal while getting to know the other sisters at our table and trying to finish filling out our survey.
The Recipie from Anne:
Applebee's Oriental Chicken Salad
Sauce:
3/4 C. honey (I use less--to taste)
1/3 C. seasoned rice vinegar
1 C. Best Food's mayonnaise (I use 1/2 lite and 1/2 regular)
1 T. + 1 tsp. Grey Poupon Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. sesame oil
Blend in a blender and chill
Salad:
Green salad mix with cabbage and carrots added
chow mien noodles
toasted sliced almonds
mandarin oranges (if desire) any other add-ins you like
Tyson's breaded chicken tenderloins baked according to package directions, sliced on a diagonal into narrow slices.
After we ate there was a 'Purse Hunt' game. Sister Anne Law named off items you would typically, or not so typically, find in a purse. Seeing what people had was an interesting way to get to know everyone in the room.
Unfortunately the pictures didn't turn out well from that portion of the night, but I think everyone agreed that Tiffany Foster had the most in her bag. She had an entire bag in her 'purse' (as large as the smallest purse winner: Whitni Stradling) filled with coins, and another with full of makeup, not to mention the hundreds of other items both from the list and not. Kim Huber and Patti Pomeroy had almost all of the practical items on the list, and Lecia Crider is a walking pharmacy. You should go to Luzetta Whipple (and only her) if you need a needle and thread (she always has it), and Heather Mayhew if you need a purse-size copy of the Book of Mormon. Alyson Rogers won the most embarrassing item (clean underwear for her potty-training son) and Amanda Bogle had the heaviest purse (she had her son's scripture case in it).
We got dinner and a show from the RS Presidency:
Anne Law, Suzie Riggs, Brooke Stokes, (Jenifer Seiter was out of town)
The very end of the song:"To Know, Know, Know You, Is to Love, Love, Love You..."
